We all know our dog is sick when they are vomiting, sneezing, have diarrhea etc. But here are some less obvious symptoms to watch out for.

1. Changes in behavior - No one knows your dog better than you. If your dog normally loves chewing on that teddy bear you’ve had since you were a kid, but all of the sudden just seems uninterested in it and all other chew toys, it could be a sign that your dog is not feeling well.

2. Increased salivation - You walk into the kitchen and you see that your dog has drooled all over the floor. But this isn’t the kind of drooling that your dog does when you bring home leftover food from a restaurant in a doggy bag. If you find that your dog is drooling more than usual for no good reason, you might want to pay extra attention to them. It could be a sign that they are sick.

3. Drinking significantly more or significantly less water - Pay attention to how much water your dog drinks. Making sure your dog is properly hydrated is very important; especially after dog walking.

4. Hypersensitivity to light - You notice that your dog is not in the mood for dog walking on a perfectly sunny day. The light might be something that is bothering them. If you find that your dog is trying to avoid light, it could be a sign that something else is going on.
